Summary: Over fifteen years in visual communications. Including graphics, print and animated solutions for San J ose fine arts organizations, individual artists and small businesses. An independently motivated designer with fine art sensibilities, expressing depth and illumination in both commercial and fine arts arenas. Currently working as a freelance Flash/graphics/web developer.

Goals: To provide visual content solutions for critical business concepts.

Accomplishments:

Promo Designer; KSAR West Valley Public Television Station.

APME ( Associated Press Managing Editors) Gazette: Photojournalist Intern. Images included day one front cover and supporting photos in the five day conference publication. String book available for review online at http://www.larcdesigngroup.com/km/comm.html

Uncensored Magazine; Graphic Design and Layout for front and back covers, as well as four featured articles.

Creative Director and project champion for the 501(c) 3 web organization for at risk youths; entitled 'Youtopia', which was listed in the 1999 NASA Learning Technologies Project Index as an innovative educational tool incorporating the arts and technology for social benefit. Highlighted job responsibilities included strategic partnering, creative lead, and project champion.

Visual Specialist/Artist in Residence, computer graphics and web education to elementary students, including Lucille Packard Children's Hospital arts education. Contract employment for arts education organizations: ArtPath, ArtReach, Palo Alto Arts Center, The Euphrat Museum educational program and PAPPA (Palo Alto Parents and Professionals Association) Highlighted job responsibilities included public instruction and engagement of grade school students in project based artistic studies.

Copy/Graphic Communications
· Conceptualization/ideation for Seagate HR employee promotion campaign. J ob responsibilities included creation of copy concepts and corresponding graphic ideation.
· Tvia.com, PlanetWeather.com, and Kidsinit.org; developed GUI and graphic content.
· West Valley College Design Group, Staff and Organizational Web site, Court Reporting Division website (in development)
· American Airlines publications, IM Creative, Inc. J ournalism responsibilities included research, interviews  and creative article development for magazine copy
· 3 COM/Tandy Santa Clara County of Education Facilitator Highlighted job responsibilities included public speaking on Internet utilization for classroom educational use.

Film Production; production assistant throughout One From the Heart through Cotton Club at Zoetrope Studios, ( Los Angeles , Rutherford , and Astoria , Queens .) Working as a pre production assistant to Producer Fred Roos, with Art Director Dennis Gassner, in Electronic Cinema with Michael Lehman and Post Production with Richard Beggs

Television Media; National Product Representativeaka talent, for over thirty national advertising campaigns, resulting in a unique understanding and appreciation of content delivery, product marketing and advertising media. (resume available on request)  

Experience

2004 – 2007 Student West Valley College, in web development, graphics, animation and journalism. Work Study as Graphics designer for West Valley College Public Television channel . Freelance photographer and web designer; Addison Penzak Jewish Community Center, Campbell Heritage Theatre, weddings, small business webs.

2003 Artist in Residence at the Lucille Packard Children's Hospital via Triton Museum’s ArtReach Program Also Artist in residence at PAPPA, at the Stanford Escondido Elementary School, teaching 6- 14 yr old students computer graphics, Dream weaver, and Flash animation at the Palo Alto Arts Center.

BAMTA - Associate Member (Broad Area Multimedia and Technology Association) NASA supported non- profit organization that was established to enhance collaboration between business technology and the community -. Duties included developing Youtopia web, leading breakout sessions for Kidsinit and The Digital Clubhouse non-profit organizations.
3 Com, Inc./Tandy, Inc - Facilitator for Internet educators from the Santa Clara County Teachers Internet Education Program, providing guidance on Internet use in classrooms.

  • Albany State University, New York , magna cum laude/1979. Major: Anthropology - with emphasis on filmmaking of sub cultures and interpersonal communications. Continued education in character and story structures, interactive content creation, on camera presentations, advertising and digital design and web development.
